The majority of students want test preparation to increase their SAT score to a level that is competitive for admission to their target schools. For you, that might be a 1200, 1400, or 1500. Your ultimate score goal will be dependent on a few factors: your baseline score, your target schools, and your GPA.
SAT Test Baseline Score
Without going into too much detail here, you will want to take a real practice SAT to establish your baseline score. This “real practice SAT” might sound funny, but it is an important definition. Many big box test prep companies make their own materials, including their own practice tests. These tests are usually more difficult than the real SAT and graded more severely. Click here for more information about this phenomenon from the Wall Street Journal.
Once you set an introductory session, you will receive links to free online practice REAL SAT tests. You will take one of these REAL SAT Practice tests to establish your baseline score. This is the most accurate means of assessing where you are right now in terms of your SAT score. You want a recent, real score. Not a test from last year, not your PSAT, not a practice test you took months ago.
SAT Score Goal
From this point, you will set your score goal. Your score goal will be higher than your baseline SAT score by at least 100-150 points. If you’re motivated and have the time for practice tests and test preparation, you can increase your SAT score 150-250 points. A lot of this depends on where you are now and where you want to go to school. Some students want to increase their score by 200 points or more. This is difficult if they are already scoring a 1410.
You can meet your score goal with test preparation from mcstutoring. We provide you with a solid plan and guidance, and you supply the work between sessions. Together, we can reach your score goal.
ACT Test Preparation
While the general process for ACT Preparation is similar to the SAT, there are some differences. There is an overlap of material for the two tests. The largest content difference is that the ACT contains a science section while the SAT has 2 math sections. As for style, the ACT tends to be more straightforward but has more questions per unit time.

I work with each and every student personally. Also, I communicate with the parents of my students regularly to update them about their student’s progress.

Ease of Scheduling and Payment
Many of us have busy and often variable schedules. If this is the case for you or your student, you will enjoy the ease and flexibility of scheduling sessions with mcstutoring. Whether you are seeking help for test preparation or math tutoring, scheduling with the Acuity scheduler is fantastic.
First, you can schedule sessions as often or as seldom as you wish. That allows for flexibility in scheduling. If you need a session one week and then not for another month, that’s fine. The scheduler allows for that.
Second, you can schedule sessions for 30 or 60-minute increments. Sometimes students have only a few questions they want to cover. The availability of 30-minute sessions allows for them to set these short sessions when they need. Also, if your student needs a 90-minute session, you can schedule a 60-minute session followed by a 30-minute session.
Third, payment is a breeze. You can pay via PayPal using the scheduler. If you already have a PayPal account, you are fine. If not, PayPal accepts credit cards and even checks. Should you have a balance in your account at the end of the school year, you will be refunded the remaining balance.
